In all three perceptions, how I see myself is the most important because it decides my altitude in life. If I see myself as smart, if I see myself as a winner then the game of chess as successfully translated itself into the game of life because I will have less self imposed limitations. When our children travel they begin to see the world beyond the local prism of inner-city life. They often see a world that they never knew they were a part of and they are learning how to fit in. Hopefully, they are learning to make the right moves beyond 64 squares. Finally, the world changes towards them, as they see inner-city children scurrying trophies through the airports, reading books, asking questions, and our teams winning National Championships while they are unequivocally are taking on all challengers
