Numerous studies have shown that there is a positive correlation between children who play chess and standardized tests scores. Studies also show that children with high standardized test scores are accepted to better schools, graduate and move on to fruitful careers.  There is no doubt, therefore that chess empowers and positively impacts on the educational, social and economic status of its players.

However, chess is an expensive endeavor and those who participate usually have enough financial resources to hire teachers and coaches, travel and attend tournaments.  That leaves out many of our inner-city youth who paradoxically need this type of foundation that can positively change the course of their lives.

The Hip Hop Chess Day™ Tour, scheduled for 2018,  is designed to involve inner-city children in chess. The tour is structured to attract these youth through presentation of the game, chess clinics and performances by famous hip hop artists.  The face and ambassador of the Hip Hop Chess Day™ Tour is Loaded Lux.  The tour will be organized by Jerald Times, CEO of Chess Across Borders.

We  are seeking investments to cover the costs of the tour.   You can contact us by email for a preliminary proposal.
